In a thrilling comeback at the Lancaster Ice Rink, the Mighty Drunks edged out the bears 4-3 in a dramatic finish during last evening's Adult League Championship game. Trailing 3-2 with just under a minute left, the Mighty Drunks showcased their resilience by netting two goals in the final 60 seconds, turning the tide and securing the victory. The Bears had maintained a lead for much of the game, but the Mighty Drunks' late surge underscored their determination and offensive prowess. 

The victory not only highlights the Mighty Drunks' ability to perform but also adds an exciting chapter to their season. The game's  conclusion kept the spectators on the edge of their seats, epitomizing the unpredictable and exhilarating nature of adult league hockey. Congratulations to both teams for getting to the championship!

Former Lancaster Firebirds Goaltender Mason Courville gets selected in the OHL Priority Selection

In a significant milestone for Pennsylvania hockey, goaltender Mason Courville has been selected 55th overall by the Flint Firebirds in the 2025 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Priority Selection.  This marks a remarkable journey for the Palmyra native, who began his goaltending hockey career with the Lancaster Firebirds.  

Courville's development continued with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 15U AAA team during the 2024-2025 season.  There, he posted an impressive 2.09 goals - against average, (GAA) and a .926 save percentage, showcasing his skills as a formidable presence in the net.  

His standout performances at the 2025 OHL Cup further solidified his reputation.  Representing TPH Thunder 16U, Courville delivered a 33 - save shutout against the Waterloo Wolves on Day 1, earning MVP honors.  He continued his excellence with a 25 - save performance against the Don Mills Flyers on Day 2, again being named MVP.  

Flint Firebirds' General Manager Dave McParlan expressed enthusiasm about the selection, stating, "We are very excited about the four players we selected tonight.  They are not only very skilled hockey players but quality people and we are thrilled to have them as Firebirds."

Courville's ascent from local youth hockey to the OHL underscores the growing prominence of Pennsylvania-born talent in the sport.  His journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes in the region highlighting the opportunities that dedication and performance can unlock.

Big congratulations to our 9UAA and 16U Firebirds teams for making it to the AHF playoffs this weekend! 

Your hard work, dedication, and teamwork have brought you this far, and we couldn’t be prouder! Now it’s time to leave it all on the ice and chase that championship.
