Learn to Skate USA Program

Lancaster Ice Rink’s Learn to Skate provides a fun, positive program for anyone looking to learn the basic skating skills required to play hockey, figure skate, or just become more comfortable and confident skating on the ice.

Learn to Skate USA is a comprehensive method that teaches everything from the basic fundamentals to advanced skating skills. This program provides skaters the opportunity to learn and practice skills that will assist in preparing for participation on a Firebirds hockey team or becoming a member of the Red Rose Figure Skating Club.

LIR Learn to Skate Beginners

This Beginner Class is now FULL.  Please check back for information on our next session coming in February!

Class time for this program is Mondays 5:15-6:00pm

Winter Beginner Dates – Monday, January 3 – Monday, February 7

Make Up Class Date – Monday, February 14

This class is for skaters who are just starting their first Learn to Skate session.  We will offer Snowplow 1 (ages 4-6), Basic Skills 1 (ages 7-15), Adult 1 (ages 16 and up), and Hockey 1 (ages 4-12)!

This is the ideal class for skaters who have never been on the ice before!

Please note – these levels are still available at the Friday evening class time.


The Friday All Levels class is FULL. Please check back for information on our next session coming in February!!

Winter Series will begin on Friday, January 7th. 

Class times for all levels - Fridays - 5:15-6:00pm

Winter Series Dates - Friday, January 7th - Friday, February 11th

*Make Up Class Date – Friday, February 18th

*Class size will be limited to ensure the safety of our skaters and staff.

Cost - $115 per skater

*10% discount for each sequent registered immediate family member
